I wish for clouds....today and forever!

For numerous years,
I have benevolently showered
                       rays of warmth,
                       rays of love.
                 
I have graciously bestowed
                       light of awakening,
                       light of awareness.
                     

I have endured Shoah
or Hiroshima
or Jalianwala Bagh
but each day
               I prayed
               for awakening of suppressed conscience!
               I hoped
               for darkness of hearts to melt away!
               I wished
               for peace and love for all!

But today I am deeply inflicted;
for each wound on Damini
                         bled my vitality,
and each tear of hers,
                         blurred my prudence,
and each wail of hers,
                          pierced my wisdom.


I wish for clouds........today and forever!
I no longer want to give light,
I no longer want to take darkness away,
                           for the hearts of the people below are so dark!
I no longer wanted to give warmth,
I no longer want to take coldness away
                            for the hearts of the people below are so cold!


I wish for clouds........today and forever!
I wish for clouds to cover me now and forever!
